Dachshunds were developed to scent, chase, and flush out badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals, while the miniature dachshund was bred to hunt smaller prey such as rabbits. My dachshunds love to burrow under their and my blankets.
Scarly loves to wake me up in the morning just so she can go under the covers and lay right beside me. Toby loves to go under the blanket at night and travels from the top of the bed to the bottom. But he doesn’t stay there, he will get off the bed and go under the bed to sleep.
Toby loves burrowing under the blankets. I will see this little lump moving from the top of my bed all the way down to the bottom of the bed and out pops Toby’s head!
They also love going under the blankets when they don’t feel well. They love cuddling on the blanket with me when I am on the recliner! As you can see by the pictures, my babies love their blankets!
